Privacy Policy

SailCall("we," "us") gives sailing go / caution / no-go recommendations from weather and marine forecasts. There is no login or registration, and we do not ask for your name, email, or password.

Location queries.When you search a place, we send the place name and coordinates to our servers so we can fetch a forecast and compute a verdict. We do not track your GPS unless you tap "Near me," which only runs when you start it.

Lookup limits. To enforce daily limits on sailing verdicts (when you pick a harbor and we fetch a forecast — not each letter while typing), we may store an anonymous client identifier in your browser and count lookups against it (or your IP address). This is not tied to a name or email.

On your device only.Recent searches and display preferences (such as units) may be saved in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device unless you clear it.

Forecasts come from WeatherAPI.com. When you search a place, we send coordinates and place names needed to return forecast data. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policy.

We do not use authentication cookies or advertising cookies. Search limits and display preferences may be stored in your browser's local storage — these are essential for the site to work and do not require consent.

With your consent, we load Google Analytics to understand how SailCallis used (for example, which pages are visited). Analytics only runs if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can change your choice anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Google's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal information. We do not run ads or build advertising profiles. We do not create user accounts or store email addresses unless you choose to email us.

Cached forecast data expires on a short schedule (typically about one hour) to reduce API usage. Anonymous search-limit counters reset daily. Data stored only in your browser stays there until you clear it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we do not run accounts, there is usually little or nothing stored on our side beyond short-lived search limits and caches. SailCall is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
